Application and Selection

Fellows selection criteria

Competitive applicants will express a commitment to become deeply engaged in the PRF program by regularly attending special events. They will also show interest in applying for future internships or immersive learning trips, and/or interest in enrolling in the evidence-based poverty alleviation concentration (for economics/IE majors) or taking related courses in economics (for non-economics majors or students not in the concentration). A desire to pursue a future in anti-poverty related work and a history of service to others will further enhance an applicant’s competitiveness.

Poverty Research Community

Students of all majors who are interested in applying for future PRF internships, concentrations, or immersive learning trips can become involved with the program through applying to the Poverty Research Community. Community members are invited to special events, and their attendance and engagement are taken into consideration in applications for future PRF opportunities. PRCs are required to attend at least three events per semester to remain active members.
