The Arts at Notre Dame have never been stronger, with remarkable facilities, strong faculty, talented students, and dedicated staff. The Arts Initiative will build on our collective resources to create compelling new programs that provide intellectually rich arts experiences to the Notre Dame community and well beyond. Together we will nurture a generation of Notre Dame alumni who value the arts as an integral part of the education of the whole person, and who see advocacy and leadership in the arts as a force for good.
Status Update
The world-class Raclin Murphy Museum of Art opened its doors Dec. 1, 2023, which was a tremendously exciting moment for the University and the burgeoning Arts Initiative. The College of Arts and Letters, the School of Architecture, the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art have collaborated on an awareness campaign and a website, arts.nd.edu, that invites campus and the community to discover and engage with Notre Dame’s vibrant arts scene and the newly developed Arts Gateway area of campus. Planning is underway for next steps in the arts initiative, including a biennial arts festival that would engage the arts, the community, students, faculty, and staff around a common theme connected to the University’s mission.
