This semester, the Office of the Provost will continue the Connections Series and its focus on the Strategic Framework, inviting faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdocs to learn more about the Bioengineering & Life Sciences Initiative on Monday, October 7.

The event will include a short program featuring a conversation with Initiative Director Paul Bohn, the Arthur J. Schmitt Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. There will be an opportunity for Q&A as well as for fellowship and conversation with colleagues. Drinks and food will be served. In order to plan accordingly, we ask that you please RSVP for these events.

A joint initiative of the College of Engineering and College of Science and a key priority in the University’s strategic framework, the Notre Dame Bioengineering & Life Sciences Initiative will advance human health and wellness through interdisciplinary biomedical research and training—from fundamental discoveries through detection, prevention, and treatment of disease. This University-wide initiative represents an investment in science and engineering — unprecedented in scale at Notre Dame — that will create the capacity for transformative discoveries in human health, especially for vulnerable and underserved populations, and enhance research across multiple units. The Provost's Office created the Connections Series to strengthen our sense of community, highlight the work of interdisciplinary institutes, centers, and other academic units, and build a culture of scholarly connection across disciplines, colleges, and schools.

Mark your calendars for the next Connections Series event, featuring Notre Dame Learning, on Monday, Nov. 4
